iRobot, a company founded by Massachusetts Institute of Technology roboticists, recently revealed the revolutionary ConnectR. Latest robot looks like a curling stone, with a reddish orange color reminiscent of the set "2001 :. A Space Odyssey". The company has been successful with other robots, including Roomba, a robot vacuum cleaner; The Scooba, a robot mop; and Verro, who cleans the pool. A gutter-cleaning robot, the Looj, disclosed by the company on the same day with ConnectR.

Robot Gallery
ConnectR different from its siblings. Rather than to serve strictly utilitarian functions such as cleaning the floor, it was created for a social purpose. As a virtual presence, household bot meant to keep a distance with relatives and late-working parents are connected to their families.
The robot is based on the design of Roomba and has two high-resolution video camera with two-way audio system. It can be controlled remotely, so homeowners can see the fuss over them when they go home, and advanced users can even conceivably play fetch with their dogs from a distance. Parents can play hide and seek with their children, grandparents can read books for their grandchildren, and families on holiday can check the cat while they were away.
Because ConnectR is mobile, "host" families do not have to stop what it's doing to have a conversation with a distant relative. Robots as if functioning as a stand-in, and the conversation can occur in much the same way that they would if everyone in the same room.
So how does it work? ConnectR is based on the design of Roomba, so it is very mobile and will not be reversed easily. But the company does not say anything about the stairs, and traditionally, Roombas have a hard time with stairs and tend to avoid them entirely through their design.
Audio-visual equipment ConnectR is what separates a robot from the sisters and make ConnectR virtual presence.

TRANSFORMER

Definition transformer

The transformer is a device that transfers electrical energy from one circuit electrical power to the electrical circuit to another through a magnetic coupling based on the principle of electromagnetic induction. Transformer is widely used both in the field of electricity and electronics. Users in power systems is by choosing the appropriate voltage and economical For each every purpose, for example the need for high voltage in the transmission of electrical power over long distances.

Transformer Principles How it Works
The working principle is based on Faraday transformer is an electrical current can cause the magnetic field and the opposite magnetic field can cause an electric current. If on one coil on the transformer given alternating electric current, the number of lines of magnetic force fluctuations occur as a result on the primary coil induction. Secondary coil receives magnetic lines of force of the primary coil occurs which is also a changing number. Then on the secondary coil induction and consequently also arise between the two ends of the coil are voltage difference.

Types of transformer

  • Step-up transformer
Step-up transformer is a transformer that has a secondary winding more than the primary coil, thus serving as a stress riser. These transformers are commonly encountered in power plants as a riser generated voltage into a high voltage generator used in long distance transmission.

  • Step-down transformer
Step-down transformer having a secondary winding less than the primary coil, thus serving as the lowering of the voltage. This type of transformer is very easy to find, especially in the AC-DC adapter.

  • Auto transformer

This type transformer consists of one continuous coil electrically, with the middle leads. In this transformer, most of the primary winding is also a secondary winding. Phase current in the secondary winding is always opposite to the primary current, so that the same power rate secondary windings can be made by wire thinner than a regular transformer. The advantage of auto transformater is small physical size and lower loss than other types of two loops. But this type of transformer can not provide electrical isolation between the primary winding to the secondary winding.

Moreover, auto transformer can not be used as a stress riser more than a couple of times (usually no more than 1.5 times).

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen

around 1899, a messenger from England arrived in a private club in Kenya, to invite the legendary adventurer Allan to assist the Government in preventing a world war and defeat the criminals who have used tanks to break into the Bank of England and has caused huge devastation in Germany, and each -masing countries blame each other. Allan initially refused to help, but she gets angry when people armored with automatic rifles attacked the club and try to kill everyone.
Then allan formed a team consisting of: Captain Nemo, Mina Harker, Rodney Skinner, Dorian Gray, and Tom Sawyer. This team has the ability exceptional. They started the adventure by using a very large ship belonging to the captain nemo, they head to Paris Arriving in Paris Allan and Sawyer pursue a big man who walked on the roof of the building and they succeeded in cornering her and make the man trapped by the trap that had been prepared. The big man named Dr. Jekyll or Mr. Hyde chained to his body but his body suddenly shrunk to like a normal human being.

The story was continued in Venice, where the criminals started to blow up and start building in the city dropping like dominoes, one explosion after another. The team decided that the bursting of one of the buildings of the order is the only way to stop the chain of explosions and they were built in order to plan their strategies for success and not failure They also begin his plans Sawyer driving of the car and went with Allan, Mina and Dorian. Dorian out of the car because they were attacked. The car kept going, Mina out of the car, flying like a bat and kill the gunner on top of the building.Allan also jumped after seeing CaptainT of MG and chase. All of the buildings started to collapse, Sawyer fell upside down with his car and he fired the flare was fired missiles nemo Oaptain to a building, the building exploded and stop explosions.
Elsewhere Allan pursue CaptainT up in the cemetery, they were fighting. Allan managed to unmask CaptainT of MG, it turns out it was a familiar figure. And note guarded Dorian is a traitor. He escaped using the emergency boat. Them all into a large vessel. Then comes someone give a CD recording to the captain Nemo. It turns out that Dorian had put a bomb on board. The bomb exploded, making them leaky boat and nearly drowned. Mr. Hyde is back to being a large, managed to save the ship by making it rise to the surface They repair large vessels and treat the wounded.
They get to a place that is very cold because of the snow. They use warm clothing and shelter in a cave. Rodney appears and tells Dorian residence now. They share the task and raided Captain Nemo Captain T. rescue prisoners. Event of war, the bullets flew, sword hovering in search of prey. Mina meets Dorian and they fight. Dorian killed by swords and paintings. The CaptainT of MG or Mr. "M" escape and chased Allan. Mr. Hyde gets bigger opponents. Boom exploded, Allan hit by a thorn prick Mr. "M". Then Mr. "M" escape to the ship. Sawyer shot Mr. "M" on the remote and on target. Members superbly finished the fight is won. Allan Quatermain died badly injured. They bury Allan Quatermain and leaving him with a rifle placed by Sawyer.

second generation 2G

2G (or 2-G) is short for second-generation wireless telephone technology. Second generation 2G cellular telecom networks were commercially launched on the GSM standard in Finland by Radiolinja (now part of Elisa Oyj) in 1991.[1] Three primary benefits of 2G networks over their predecessors were that phone conversations were digitally encrypted; 2G systems were significantly more efficient on the spectrum allowing for far greater mobile phone penetration levels; and 2G introduced data services for mobile, starting with SMS text messages. 2G technologies enabled the various mobile phone networks to provide the services such as text messages, picture messages and MMS (multi media messages). All text messages sent over 2G are digitally encrypted, allowing for the transfer of data in such a way that only the intended receiver can receive and read it.

After 2G was launched, the previous mobile telephone systems were retrospectively dubbed 1G. While radio signals on 1G networks are analog, radio signals on 2G networks are digital. Both systems use digital signaling to connect the radio towers (which listen to the handsets) to the rest of the telephone system.

2G TECHNOLOGY

2G technologies can be divided into Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA)-based and Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA)-based standards depending on the type of multiplexing used. The main 2G standards are:

GSM (TDMA-based), originally from Europe but used in almost all countries on all six inhabited continents. Today accounts for over 80% of all subscribers around the world. Over 60 GSM operators are also using CDMA2000 in the 450 MHz frequency band (CDMA450).[2]
IS-95 aka cdmaOne (CDMA-based, commonly referred as simply CDMA in the US), used in the Americas and parts of Asia. Today accounts for about 17% of all subscribers globally. Over a dozen CDMA operators have migrated to GSM including operators in Mexico, India, Australia and South Korea.
PDC (TDMA-based), used exclusively in Japan
iDEN (TDMA-based), proprietary network used by Nextel in the United States and Telus Mobility in Canada
IS-136 a.k.a. D-AMPS (TDMA-based, commonly referred as simply 'TDMA' in the US), was once prevalent in the Americas but most have migrated to GSM.

2G services are frequently referred as Personal Communications Service, or PCS, in the United States.

Capacity

Using digital signals between the handsets and the towers increases system capacity in two key ways:

Digital voice data can be compressed and multiplexed much more effectively than analog voice encodings through the use of various codecs, allowing more calls to be transmitted in same amount of radio bandwidth.
The digital systems were designed to emit less radio power from the handsets. This meant that cells had to be smaller, so more cells had to be placed in the same amount of space. This was possible because cell towers and related equipment had become less expensive.

2G Data Transmission Capacity:[3]

With GPRS (General Packet Radio Service), you have a theoretical transfer speed of max. 50 kbit/s (40 kbit/s in practice).
With EDGE (Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution), you have a theoretical transfer speed of max. 250 kbit/s (150 kbit/s in practice).

Disadvantages

In less populous areas, the weaker digital signal transmitted by a cellular phone may not be sufficient to reach a cell tower. This tends to be a particular problem on 2G systems deployed on higher frequencies, but is mostly not a problem on 2G systems deployed on lower frequencies. National regulations differ greatly among countries which dictate where 2G can be deployed.

Analog has a smooth decay curve, but digital has a jagged steppy one. This can be both an advantage and a disadvantage. Under good conditions, digital will sound better. Under slightly worse conditions, analog will experience static, while digital has occasional dropouts. As conditions worsen, though, digital will start to completely fail, by dropping calls or being unintelligible, while analog slowly gets worse, generally holding a call longer and allowing at least some of the audio transmitted to be understood.

Advantage

While digital calls tend to be free of static and background noise, the lossy compression they use reduces their quality, meaning that the range of sound that they convey is reduced. Talking on a digital cell phone, a caller hears less of the tonality of someone's voice.[citation needed]
